Story of Lord Rama Returns to Ayodhya: According to widespread mythological stories, Lord Rama returns to Ayodhya after 14 years. Lord Rama is the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu, who took an incarnation to wipe out Ravana. The story of Home Returning of Rama:
According to the sacred book Ramayana, Diwali is celebrated in the home returning of Rama, he was the eldest son of King Dasaratha of Ayodhya. King Dasarath exiled Rama for 14 years from the Kingdom. Rama along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana went to live in forests. Ravana, the king of Lanka kidnapped Sita and imprisoned her in his palace. Lord Rama with help of Hanuman, Bali, and Sugreev attacked Lanka. After a furious battle, Rama freed Sita, by killing Ravana. After this triumph of good over evil, Rama returned to Ayodhya.
In the absence of Rama, his wooden shoes idolized the throne. Bharata promoted the Ayodhya people to celebrate the return of Rama splendor. Actually, there was no need of order, the whole kingdom was eager to welcome them. Everyone cleans their house and light up lamps. They decorate the entire city with beautiful flowers and garlands. As soon as the chariot of Rama landed, Bharata rushed to touch Rama and Sita’s feet. Rama hugged Bharata and tears were running out of eyes. Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana met their mothers Kausalya, Sumitra, and Kaikeyi. Sage Vasishta ordered to organize for Rama’s coronation. Finally, Rama took the throne and Vasishta crowned him as the King of Ayodhya.
The celebration took place on the New moon day of Ashwin. From that day people started Diwali festival as the most special festival of India. Diwali means the celebration of happiness, fireworks, and sweets. Diwali celebrated in the honor of the victory of Lord Rama over the demon King Ravana.
